CJ 4436 - Trial Procedures - Criminal Law 3 Credit Hour(s)
This course is designed to introduce students to the use of legal reasoning and argument in the context of trial advocacy. Students will develop skills in formulating, presenting, and critiquing legal arguments. Students will explore the sources of criminal law, the theory behind the adversarial system, and the various procedural and evidentiary rules in place to achieve the system’s goals. Throughout the semester, students will apply what is learned through mock trials in class and in one or more scrimmages/tournaments with other schools. Prerequisite(s): Must have permission of instructor to enroll in the course.
