ENG 1103 - Composition and Modern English I for Global Scholars


3 Credit Hour(s)

Introductory study and practice of composition for the global scholar. It is a writing-centered course that emphasizes careful reading, analytical thinking, and persuasive strategies inherent in writing within the academic community. There will be intensive instruction in the writing process and rhetorical modes on global and multicultural issues. Focuses on the organization of ideas in well-developed expository and argumentative essays (usually six to eight essays), with stress on grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary development. A grade of C or better is required for credit. Must be completed within the first 30 hours of enrollment.
Prerequisite(s): Placement testing and admission into the Global Scholar program at Troy University or recommendation by an advisor.
