BIO 4453 - Biogeography 3 Credit Hour(s)
This course provides a general review of the historical, ecological, and anthropic factors (such as plate tectonics, glacial-interglacial cycles, soil, climate, topography, biotic interactions, and climate change) affecting the geographic distribution and abundance of animals and plants, with an emphasis on mammals, birds, and their habitats. The course includes lectures by the instructor and discussion of articles from the primary literature. Prerequisite(s): BIO 2229 /BIO L229 or permission of the instructor Co-requisite(s): BIO 4454
