BIO 4422 - Introduction to Conservation Biology

Introduction to the principles, practices, and philosophy of measuring, maintain, and enhancing biological diversity. Topics covered will include patters of biodiversity and extinction, causes of extinction and population declines, techniques used to restore populations, landscape level conservation planning, and the role of conservation in protecting ecosystem services.
Prerequisite(s): BIO 2229 /BIO L229 , BIO 3320 /BIO L320  or equivalent undergraduate courses
