ASL 3310 - Deaf Culture and Diverse Populations 3 Credit Hour(s)
An exploration of linguistic, social, and ethnic factors that influence attitudes and beliefs among various segments of both deaf and non-deaf communities. Attention will be paid to “deaf plus” populations that simultaneously identify as both deaf and some other socio-cultural identity. Geographical, generational, ethnic, and gender differences are explored. Prerequisite(s): ITP 2200 and ASL 2242 with grades of “C” or better
