(121 Hours)

The Bachelor of Science in Nutrition prepares students for entry into the workforce as public health nutritionists, food service management and related industries, corporate wellness jobs, food safety, or two-year graduate degree programs to earn the Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist (RDN) credential. RDNs work in a variety of health care settings, state and federal jobs, food and nutrition industry, and corporate food service operations to name a few. This program may be completed 100% online or blended format on the Troy Campus in as little as three years, making it possible to become an RDN in as little as five years.

This degree has specialized general studies requirements (see areas III-V). Students should consult with an advisor from the department along with this catalog. Note that graduate programs in nutrition vary and students considering graduate work are responsible for determining specific prerequisite courses required for admission.

Students must achieve a C or better in all courses contained in Area III, Area V, program core, and concentrations. If a student earns a D or F in any of these courses the course must be repeated.

All students in the Nutrition degree are required to complete an internship course toward the end of the program. Students must meet the requirements of those organizations in order to complete the internship.
