SWK 2280 - Social Work Research I 3 Credit Hour(s)
This course examines the standard research procedures in social and behavioral sciences. Students will gain proficiency in crafting research inquiries, conducting thorough literature surveys, constructing hypotheses, and selecting research methodologies. The focus will be on data collection tools, analytical methods, and the art of composing research reports. We will also delve into the ethical and moral considerations that arise when working with human participants, focusing on respecting the cultural diversity of research participants. The course will underscore the importance of assessing social work practices, encompassing individual-based evaluations and various experimental and quasi-experimental designs. Prerequisite(s): MTH 1110 or MTH 1112 or higher
