CRM 8826 - Seminar in Theory and Practice of Crime Prevention 3 Semester Hour(s)
This course provides insight into the theoretical foundations of various approaches to crime prevention. It begins by exploring how crime tends to concentrate in certain environments and how opportunities for criminal behavior differ across these settings. Theories such as routine activities, crime patterns, and defensible space help explain the environmental factors that influence criminal opportunities. These perspectives are then applied to evaluate the effectiveness of various strategies aimed at reducing opportunities for crime.
