BIO 5553 - Biogeography


3 Semester Hour(s)

This course provides a comprehensive review of the historical, ecological, and anthropic factors (such as plate tectonics, glacial interglacial cycles, soil, climate change) affecting the geographic distribution and abundance of animals and plants, with an emphasis on mammals, birds, and their habitats. The course includes lectures by the instructor and students and discussion of articles from the primary literature.

Prerequisite(s): General Ecology with lab course, or permission of the instructor.
Corequisite(s): BIO 5554 .
