MUS 1102 - Music Theory I 3 Credit Hour(s)
Study of Common Practice Era diatonic harmony and counterpoint with emphasis on the music of the Baroque and Classic eras, and including seventh chords, cadences, Roman Numeral and Macro analysis, non-chord tones and suspensions, and four-part choral writing, harmonic progression and harmonic rhythm. Prerequisite(s): Grade of C or higher in MUS 1101 or a grade of 70 or higher on a placement exam. Co-requisite(s): For music majors: MUS 1105 , MUS 1107 .
